Today's Podcast 04/23/2010

  • What a beautiful day it was today. The temp was in the 70s and the flowers are really starting to bloom. Just the perfect day for Earth Day. And what better book to read than one where the weather is not so great and the Earth is in peril?

    Pfeffer, Susan Beth.
    THIS WORLD WE LIVE IN
    Orlando : Harcourt, 2010.
    IL YA
    ISBN 0547248040
It has been almost a year since everything changed. That's when the moon was pushed out of its orbit by a meteor strike. Miranda Evans, her two brothers, and their mother have survived the year but it hasn't been easy. The climate has changed the world forever. The winter was unbearably cold, there is little food and no one knows what tomorrow will bring. And now
things are going to get a bit more difficult with the arrival of six more people, including
Miranda's father and stepmother. And a new disaster threatens to derail the new lives they
    have been trying to build.
